Jake,
In your posting at:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/theos-talk/message/37696
you write in part:
==========================================================
...I don't think there are any bonafide ESs, but
individuals here an there around the world,
some maybe in ESs, some not. Most not
Theosophists. Purucker was "trying" too.
He may have not been "sent" as a messenger,
but if someone wants to make a big effort,
who's to stop them, and if they are going
the right way, they probably get some help
once in a while.
=========================================================
I am somewhat puzzled as to what you mean by
"I don't think there are any bonafide ESs...."
I assume you mean there are none today. Right?
But I'm not too clear as to how you are using the word
"bonafide".
Was HPB's original 1888 ES a "bonafide" ES?
Was Judge's ES a "bonafide" ES?
Was Tingley's ES a "bonafide" ES?
If your answer to any of the three above questions is "yes", then
what made them "bonafide" THEN but NOW you say there are
no "bonafide" ESs? What is the difference?
When Robert Crosbie first founded the DES, do you believe it
was "bonafide"?
But if you say that the DES could have been "bonafide" in Crosbie's
time, then what about the present Dzyan Esoteric School? Not
bonafide?
Now if you really do believe in the following statement:
=====================================================
The "authority" to start an esoteric group comes "not
from outside authority but from the heart".
=====================================================
does this "heart authority" have anything to do with whether the
group is bonafide or not?
Based on the little that you have written, I have no idea what your
actual thinking is about this subject.
Maybe you will enlighten us....
Daniel
