In the 1970s and 1980s when we were researching A.P.
Sinnett, Maude Travers and C.W. Leadbeater, we discovered
the following article written by A.P. Sinnett:

"Do the Mahatmas Exist?"  1894.  [Reprinted from Light (London), 
March 3, 1894, p. 107.]

This article by Sinnett may be his first published article in which
he mentions (although not by name but with some vague biographical 
information) Leadbeater and Travers and their supposed "contacts" 
with the Masters.
