SIGNS!
A few months ago here in the US, at
the Whitehouse, a huge 100+ year old
Elm tree next to the whitehouse blew
down in a storm. (The tree appears on
the dollar-bill.) I think this is an
omen or a sign about something about the
US's fate, or current state, or a
significant change in the country. What,
I don't know, but I guess it has to do
with loss of at least the pretence of
principles, character, etc. At least when
there is pretence, there is also some
real values manifested ocassionally to
back it up. I think there is no longer
even the pretence maintained in government,
business and human relations in general
- the shaft is given to you up front and
in impunity.
Why I think this elm-tree falling
down is some kind of symbol, is that I've
seen these type of omens around significant
events in my own life and those around me,
and they set off a kind of inner reaction.
I've only got my own life to go by, but
others maybe can see omens similar in their
own life. For instance, my grandparents
had two huge trees in their back yard. Right
after my grandfather died, one of the trees,
a huge elm, blew down. I know another
household which had three well-known members
in it, and two or three huge trees in the
back yard. One of the members died, and
one of the huge trees shortly blew down
(or had to be taken down, I can't remember.)
I used to work for a construction company
which ran a couple of crews. One crew went
to work on one house, and the boss dropped
me off to finish putting caps on the peak
of the roof of another roofing job. I was
nailing shingles on the peak and a crow
flew closely by. It circled back and
alighted beside me on the peak about 15
feet away - very unusual, as the crows won't
let you get any where near them. I figured
it might be an omen - and sure enough,
one of my buddies on the other construction
crew at that time had a bad fall and was
hauled off to the hospital. I built my
own house and had been living in it about
15 years. I was out in the back yard
after dusk, and owl flew by and dive-bombed
me. You hear owls but never see them (a
symbol of death.) Sure enough, shortly
thereafter, I got beaten up, lost my house,
and almost my life. I had a coffee-cup I
used all the time. I dropped it and it
shattered - a sign it seemed to me. I
lost my girlfried right after. A few years
later, I got a job driving truck. I was
living alone and I had an old corel plate
(amazing material) which I had used daily
for about 15 years. It got stuck under
a rocking-recliner I used, and Exploded
into 10 thousand pieces. A sign. Right
after, I had a heart-attack while driving,
and I lost my job and license.
Any Signs in your life?
