Words cannot convey a meaning to one who is not prepared for them, or to one who does not want to understand the meaning.

Putting things before people when they are not prepared to understand them, and not even committed to seriously try to understand them, is not necessarily stimulating an expansion of consciousness.

Superficial curiosity will not do. 

I will give you an "exoteric" example.

"Words" about the need to preserve natural environment are know worldwide known.  These words and discourses have been popularized, especially  since the United Nations Conference on Human Environment in Stockholm in 1972.

"Consciousness", on the other hand, have NOT been polpularized as to the need to actually protect the natural environment.

Destruction has been turned into a kind a show for the evening news to be taken passively by the TV watcher. 

What the esoteric tradition aims at -- and it has done so for many thousands of years --  is to keep things to people who can understand them, who will try hard to understand and to live them, and this, together with a method for understanding these things in their hearts. 

In what sense you have ever read HPB, or her "Esoteric Papers" --  if you did not understand even this most basic of principles for the Esoteric Philosophy? 

Can you go beyond the dead letter?
