If we cannot find Truth within ourselves, it is useless to look for it in the outside world. 

I don't mean to say that historical research is useless -- far from that.  But when the real goal is gossip, or political manipulation, then it is time to turn inwards and meditate! 

Gossipers aim at turning  minds of people towards small questions all the time. They don't want to examine issues seriously by their rhetorical questions.
