Tillett on the CONTROL of Theosophical Societies
by SECRET, inner groups....

In 2001 on Theos-Talk, Dr. Gregory Tillett wrote:

"...No organization operates without leadership and SYSTEMS OF POWER
AND CONTROL, and those that deny they have such systems are
inevitably MORE RIGIDLY CONTROLLED by those who actually hold
the 'non-existent' positions of authority."
Quoted from: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/theos-talk/message/1870

In another Theos-Talk posting, Dr. Tillett also commented:

"....SECRET, inner groups have been EXTRAORDINARILY POWERFUL in the
CONTROL of ALL Theosophical Societies...."
Quoted from: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/theos-talk/message/1901

Again Dr. Tillett remarked:

"It cannot seriously be argued that, for example, the ES within the
Adyar TS has not been THE REAL CENTRE of political power within that
Society...."

One might therefore wonder what is the role and influence of the
Egyptian Rite on both the Adyar ES and Adyar (exoteric) TS?

Furthermore, in light of the above observations, I believe Dr.
Tillett's following remark in regards to Robert Crosbie's secret
society, Dzyan Esoteric School (DES) is also highly significant:

"....the role of the DES has been EVEN GREATER than that of the
Adyar and Pt Loma ES groups because it has remained
largely 'invisible'."

EVEN GREATER.....!!

Therefore one of Tillett's own questions remains thought provoking:

What has been the role of the DES (the ULT ES organization) in the
control and/or management of the ULT?

And I would ask:

Has the secret DES within the ULT actually been THE REAL CENTER of
power within that association [ULT]?
