Physical, bureaucratic "apostolic succession" is a Catholic illusion and does not work at all  at the inner or esoteric level. 

In the book "The Friendly Philosopher", by Robert Crosbie, you will see that Crosbie affirms the Masters inspire people in different sections and sectors of the wide theosophical movement.

Adepts work with people irrespective of their "filiations" and the ULT was built upon this basic assumption.

I do not have Crosbie's book with me now to quote it in a proper way, and will travel later for a fews days, yet I am willing to bring this here.

The ULT (United Lodge of Theosophists) does not suppose it is "the only channel", etc. 

It is not a bureaucracy, not a sect; it is not a top-down organization; it is a network of students present in some 15 countries by now.
