Carlos, I totally agree with you about this. The split has left many
old members bitter, and since I have been on this forum my eyes have
been opened to a great deal that I wish I had known before. But never
too late is it? The reason I told Ken to write or contact Betty Bland
is because she is in a position to truly enlighten him about the new
co-masonic lodge that was started by John Algeo under the request of
Radha. All of the members who remained with the NEW lodge are people
who live and work at Wheaton. And the payoff for some of them was that
they were awarded the 33rd degree which they never would have received
had they remained with the old established "Le Droit Humain". So the
carrot sticks were tasty indeed.

Subject: Theos-World "Theosophical CoMasonry"
Dear Ken Shaw,
This Masonic Order, "Le Droit Humain", which is called co-masonic
because it accepts women, was founded in the 19th century and was
"adopted" by CW Leadbeater and Annie Besant as part of the Adyar
Movement early in the 20th century.
But only after old Olcott was dead and when absurdities started getting
wild.
A few years ago, though, by 2002, this Order had a split. The masonic
rite adopted and transformed by Leadbeater was not accepted any longer
by the Order (based in Paris), and John Algeo and Radha Burnier then
led a Split and the creation of another co-masonic order,
pseudo-theosophical and Adyar oriented, formally led by Ms. Radha.
In Brazil, half of the Order remained with Paris, the other half went
on with Radha and Algeo into a new Order, and the split opposed members
of the Adyar Society in a bitter way. The same must have happened in
other countries.
It's a Leadbeaterian order and it believes in all his fancies about
Saint-Germain and ritualism.
It also works as a power-behind-the-throne in the Adyar TS.
Yet the true theosophical movement is far from being ritualistic. The
theosophical movement is based on the autonomy of the learner. It is
not popish like the Liberal Catholic Church, or authoritarian as the
Leadbeaterian Masonic Order.
Interesting to note: Jiddu Krishnamurti utterly condemned ritualism;
yet most 'Krishnamurtians', including Radha Burnier, are also Masons
and take part in other forms of Leadbeaterian ritualism, as the
"Egyptian Rite"...
Someone should ask an explanation from them.
Best regards, Carlos Cardoso Aveline, from Brazil.
