Re Tibet & Discernment

Re Ken & Carlos comments on "last quarter
effort." Something that sticks in my
mind is a comment from the literature
somewhere that "after the light comes
the shadow." After pushing the "good
things" for a while and waking minds up
a bit and trying to induce change, a
negative reaction results also, and if
you push too hard, beyond person's
capacity, instead of more "light" you
just get a worse and worse negative
reaction, and end up with things worse
than they were before.

'Agree with Ken that at the beginning
of a century is the time to more
materialize things, and shift to a
more mundane plane. This is how people
are too. After so much studying of
philosophy, the lower self can't
maintain interest, or be made to maintin
interest, and ones's natural interest
goes to a lower plane, so to speak,
literature, psychology, maybe social
work, or even - theosophical history!
'which is a natural process, and nothing
wrong with it.

Was reading some of Leon Maurer's
material, can't say I follow it all, but
seems to be a description of the "matter"
side of the projection or manifestation,
with endless fields and sub-fields, and
levels. I wonder where the subjective
side of things fits into it all. From
this perspective, one would have to see
himself as an "I" or experiencer as just
a certain group of "fields," grounded
ultimately in the "zero-point" or Brahman.

J.D. Buck, Judge's friend, was mentioned
and I have a note that someone called
"The Great Works Scans" has recently put
about a half-dozen of his books / scans onto
CD's and is selling them for $5 a piece.

  <Ken,
  Thanks.
<Too soon to look at 1975-2000?
Perhaps -- for a distanced evaluation, yes.
<But it is not too soon to put things
and facts on record. And that was my point.
<Besides, the change in vibration around
2000-2001 was (has been) most significant,
and I see scarcely anyone attempting to
understand it, except off-the-record and
in private.
<In general, people did not stop to
understand or investigate what
happened to the vibration rates in 2000-2001.
<That evaluation, even with partial results,
would help sections of the movement have
some idea of what is going on, instead of
just "keeping business as usual" as if
nothing had changed.
<Things did change. And they will change
more towards 2012 and 2020.
<One does not have to pretend one is "the
Messiah" to feel some co-responsibility
and to ask oneself what one can do to help
stimulate a better dialogue and understanding
of the path -- in "beginnings of centuries".
<What are the characteristics of "start-of-
the century-efforts"?
  <Regards, Carlos.

CARLOS - A FEW THOUGHTS AND EXAMPLES IN CAPS.
  KEN
  <Thanks.
<LOOKING BACK AT THE CYCLE PATTERN, IT
SEEMS THAT THE SPIRITUAL QUALITIES
THAT ARE 'OPENED' DURING THE LAST QUATER
CENTURY, THEN MUST BE MADE INTO
PRACTICE AND ROOTED IN LONGER TERM 'FORM'.
TINGLEY'S EFFORT (1897-1942) AT POINT
<LOMA 'INCARNATED' THEOSOPHY INTO EDUCATION,
ART, DRAMA, MUSIC, LITERATURE AND DAILY
PRACTICE. HER IDEA WAS TO MAKE THEOSOPHY
'INTENSELY PRACTICAL'. IN THE LARGER
<VIEW, IN ADDITION TO TINGLEY, ALSO
BESANT-OLCOTT, MONTESSORI, STEINER,
KRISHNAMURTI ALL CONTRIBUTED TO THEOSOPHIC
<EDUCATION IN SOMEWHAT DIFFERENT WAYS
THROUGHOUT THE CENTURY. I OFFER THIS AS JUST
ONE EXAMPLE. IN OTHER WAYS MUCH WAS
<LOST. FOR EXAMPLE WITHIN THE FIRST DECADE
OF THE 20TH, THE AMERICAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION
FORMED AND THE 'ECLECTIC MEDICAL MOVEMENT'
WAS UTTERLY DESTROYED HAVING TO WAIT FOR
<THE HOLISTIC RENAISSANCE BEGINNING THE
1970'S. A FULL 60 YEAR 'DOWN CYCLE'. THIS
IS AN EXAMPLE OF HOW A VERY STRONG AN
<POSITIVE ASPECT OF THE THEOSOPHICAL MOVEMENT
FROM 1875-1900 - THE ECLECTIC MEDICAL
<MOVEMENT -- WAS OVER POWERED IN A COUPLE
OF YEARS ! (MANY OF HPB'S ASSOCIATES WERE
KEY PEOPLE IN THIS SEE HISTORY OF DR.
<ALEXANDER WILDER J.D BUCK, JOHN URI LLOYD ETC.
