Dear Leon and friends,
If one reads the chapter, The Primordial Substance and Divine Thought, page 325 in SD, vol I, then one finds your same thoughts only put in context of examining world religions so as to verify the same by many sources.

To paraphrase the Bahagavad Gita, Krishna is found to say that; I am in the ALL [ that is I am the Ideation or consciousness within everything ], but everyone is not aware of this.

The zero point you visualize is a the stepping off point to another plane. To finite minds this appears as zero, however since nothing can come from nothing, it appears to the finite mind as zero. [ see also pg 258 in SD I, and pg 130, pg 147,148, 551, 620 ] In modern movie terms such as "What The Bleep Do We Know" this is couched in terms of going into the rabbit hole where science and religion meet.

This is enough.
Namaste,
Gary B
