Scribe and Mark,
    Just an aside. The three "types" wee published by the Gnostics many 
centuries before Islam appeared. G. R. S. Mead in his Fragments of a Faith 
Forgotten iterates the three types:

1. Hylic - the purely materialist person having no inclination or perception 
beyond the physical.

2. Psychicos - The person who has access the Astral and Subtle Realms.

3. Pneaumaticos - The person who can penetrate the Spiritual Realms and 
Understandings and acquire Gnosis

The suppression of the Gnostics by the Institution of the Church attended by 
the burning of Gnostic Works, the condemnation and burning of Gnostics who 
possessed a Teaching in variance to the Canon was later repeated by the 
Institution of Islam upon the Sufi.

I encourage everyone on this Forum to purchase a Paperback Edition of the Nag 
Hammadhi Library which in my opinion contains much that amplifies the 
Blavatskian Teaching. You might also read Blavatsky's commentary on the Pistis Sophia 
in CWL Vol. XIII.
