Actually, the Monad is a triad of Atma, Buddhi and Manas.
Like a coin, the Universe and everything within it, must have a front, a
back, and a middle. Or, like a bubble has an inside an outside and a surface in
between.
There's no such thing as a duality that stands alone. All action, states,
or conditions must have at least three primary aspects, such as; Rajas, Tamas
and Satvah; left, right, and straight ahead; up, down and sideways; length,
width, and height; red, blue, and green, magenta, yellow and cyan, etc.
