I think you make AN IMPORTANT POINT here that it will be useful
to debate this letter and its contents.  I think such a debate or 
discussion (if we seriously and calmly pursue it) will clarify for 
interested theosophical students (including ourselves) some of the 
important issues actually underlying the "controversy" surrounding 
this particular letter.

Also sometimes it is useful to step back from an example such as this 
and ask if there are similar instances that might help one to gain 
perspective on the underlying issues.  Sometimes a simply contrast and 
comparison will help.  

Later this morning or today I will address in greater detail what I am 
thinking about.
