WILLIAM JUDGE

Jake and friends,
You are right, thanks.
Besides, Judge says things in a different way from HPB, and in this he complements and enriches her approach.
In Brazil, we are starting to translate some of his texts into Portuguese language.
>From a historical viewpoint, Judge played a key role in preserving the HPB/Masters tradition.
The impact of his work also helped sections of the Adyar TS recover full consciousness about the importance of HPB. Geoffrey Farthing for instance, -- the ex-president of the Adyar TS in England who died a couple of years ago -- had great admiration for Judge's writings. It seems that every member of Adyar TS who fully "discovers" HPB/Masters will soon "discover" Judge. Robert Crosbie wrote about the inner unity of their work.
William Judge was also instrumental in the creation of an Inner School for those who wanted to TRY and live the teachings in a deeper and more systematic way.
Finally, it is not a coincidence that the USA is even now the main center for that part of the movement which sees the importance of HPB.
The movement was created in New York, and Judge worked all the time in the USA.
>From the very 1880s and 1890s, Judge students in the USA and later elsewhere have been instrumental in keeping the movement alive. HPB saw the importance of his work.
And, now 115 years after 1891, we can all see the positive consequences of WQJ's work -- in a most clear way.
Regards, Carlos.

> There is a great deal to be gain and benefit from by exploring the few books and many articles by W.Q.Judge. For one, his book "The Ocean of Theosophy" is theosophy written for the so called average person and every paragraph is a treasure trove. I gave that book along with the Bhagavad-Gita, and Judges Notes On The Bhagavad-Gita to my sons for when they are ready to explore them. After finding "modern theosophy" if it were not for Judges writings it is questionable if I would have continued to study theosophy.

> Even though it's great to have you own books, there are several on-line sources for reading Judge's couple of books and his many articles. One is www.phx-ult-lodge.org and another is www.blavatsky.net which has 277 articles by Judge. Judge as a cofounder with HPB in 1875 was the one person who was forever loyal to HPB and her teachers, and was her adamant defender both as an attorney and as "a man with his hair on fire, and yet walked in calmness" for truth and justice. His writings are more than knowledge, they are inspiring.
