THEOSOPHY AND THE WORLD

Dear John, dear Friends,
Yes, thanks.
As long as one gets too attached to opinions and labels, these two forms of mind-game can replace actual creative thinking and can also be used as weapons to "defend" one's personality (the shell) and to attack other personalities.
The purpose of Theosophy is -- while keeping an open mind towards the world at large -- to stimulate the awakening of Buddhi Manas. This is obtained through detachment to things and attention to general principles.
Some theosophists do not think of the world, and stick to repeating the same old classics.
Others remain too much involved with worldly affairs and interests.
The middle way, I guess, is to keep an open mind towards the world and its suffering, but NOT to be carried away by opinions or dissensions, accepting conflict on an impersonal basis only when basic principles as RESPECT FOR LIFE and RESPECT FOR TRUTH are involved.
As to the way we study Theosophy, making our own relations among things is of the essence, I guess.
There should be a living link between the philosophy of Theosophy and daily events, global and individual.
Best regards, Carlos.
