Dear Daniel and Friends:
I quote Daniel's question from his posting below:
"Why isn't he [DALLAS] warning readers against the Theosophy
Company's
editions of THE VOICE and A MODERN PANARION since these two works
are ALSO heavily edited??"
On account of age and infirmities allow me to make some observations to
clear the air of vagueness and formless.
What in those two publications is "heavily edited?" May we all have
specific details? Should not everyone be made aware, from the outset, of
your specific allegations?
A quick review of earlier correspondence on this [ The VOICE OF THE SILENCE
and A MODERN PANARION ] shows that Theosophy Company Inc., who assumed the
duty of publishing these books, has, as far as possible, adhered to
accurately reprinting the original texts of the BOOKS.
This can be verified by anyone who is able to GO TO THE ORIGINAL SOURCES and
proof read the current reprints. This enables them to make their own
independent opinions. No "guidance" or "opinions" are needed. Silence on
this issue alone reduces them to the status of "innuendo." Their exact
purpose is unknown.
Since, in this and other cases, there is vagueness as to SOURCES [date,
place, author] interpreters need only quote accurately their precise sources
for solving this periodical renewal of already settled matters of query,
debate or complaint.
Further inquiries and observations may please be directed to Theosophy
Company.
Theosophy Company Inc.,
245 W 33rd St.,
Los Angeles, CALIFORNIA, 90007, USA.
As "Dallas, or "DTB," I have, always written as a responsible person. In
addition: I have said that I am an "associate" of the UNITED LODGE OF
THEOSOPHISTS. Therefore: I am independent and have agreed that, as such, I
alone am responsible for all my own words and actions.
In the DECLARATION of THE UNITED LODGE OF THEOSOPHISTS you will find the
following clause:
"It holds that the unassailable basis for union among Theosophists,
wherever and however situated, is "similarity of aim, purpose and teaching,"
and therefore has neither Constitution, By-Laws nor Officers, the sole bond
between its Associates being that basis. And it aims to disseminate this
idea among Theosophists in the furtherance of Unity."
I have to observe (and make the excuse that I am unwell), and possibly my
infirmities now show up in unintentional inaccuracies, for which I am of
course, responsible. It is for this reason I use many quotations, and offer
their SOURCES so anyone may check and verify them. [This is to eliminate,
as far as I can, any 'silent editing.']
Daniel, kindly stop being vague. No historian or true authority does that.
At least I am still alive at present, and try to offer reasonable answers.
Best wishes,
Dallas
PS I quote:
-----------------------------------------------------
UNITED LODGE OF THEOSOPHISTS
DECLARATION:
The policy of this Lodge is independent devotion to the cause of Theosophy,
without professing attachment to any Theosophical organization. It is loyal
to the great Founders of the Theosophical Movement, but does not concern
itself with dissensions or differences of individual opinion.
The work it has on hand and the end it keeps in view are too absorbing and
too lofty to leave it the time or inclination to take part in side issues.
That work and that end is the dissemination of the Fundamental Principles of
the Philosophy of Theosophy, and the exemplification in practice of those
principles, through a truer realization of the SELF; a profounder conviction
of Universal Brotherhood.
It holds that the unassailable basis for union among Theosophists, wherever
and however situated, is "similarity of aim, purpose and teaching," and
therefore has neither Constitution, By-Laws nor Officers, the sole bond
between its Associates being that basis. And it aims to disseminate this
idea among Theosophists in the furtherance of Unity.
It regards as Theosophists all who are engaged in the true service of
Humanity, without distinction of race, creed, sex, condition or
organization, and
It welcomes to its Association all those who are in accord with its declared
purposes and who desire to fit themselves, by study and otherwise, to be the
better able to help and teach others.
"The true Theosophist belongs to no cult or sect, yet belongs to each and
all."
-----------------------------------------------
The following is the form signed by Associates of the United Lodge of
Theosophists:
Being in sympathy with the purposes of this Lodge, as set forth in its
"Declaration," I hereby record my desire to be enrolled as an Associate, it
being understood that such association calls for no obligation on my part,
other than that which 1, myself, determine.

[danielhcaldwell writes:
Dallas once wrote on Theos-Talk:
[DTB WHEN, WHERE ?]
"If you wish I can give you as an example the little book that
the Adyar Theosophical Publishing House issued under H.P.Blavatsky's
name as PRACTICAL OCCULTISM It is one of the articles she wrote.
If you have a copy then compare it with the same article you have
reprinted by the U.L.T. in OCCULTISM OR RAJA-YOGA. The U.L.T.
is verbatim from H.P.Blavatsky's original article -- remember
proof reading it myself years ago. The ADYAR version has been
heavily edited. . . .
"In U.L.T. I don't have to worry -- the originals are available on a
reliable basis . . . . Personally I would rather deal with
H.P.Blavatsky's 'mistakes' than with those created by others who have
had the temerity to believe they knew better than she did, and had
the audacity to introduce changes which she did not authorize. . . ."
[DTB TO THIS I ADDED EVIDENCE IN DETAIL --
available to anyone who wants it.]

DHC Notice Dallas warns readers against the Adyar version of OCCULTISM
OR RAJA-YOGA because it has been heavily edited.
DHC Why isn't he warning readers against the Theosophy Company's
editions of THE VOICE and A MODERN PANARION since these two works
are ALSO heavily edited??
