AFAIK, Dallas never explained why....

Carlos,
Dallas has never explained why it is NOT permissible
for the Adyar TS to publish "edited" versions of
HPB's writings WHILE AT THE SAME TIME it is apparently permissible
and seemingly okay for the Theosophy Company to publish
2 editions of HPB's works that contain hundreds of changes
and "corrections" with NO note in the books indicating
that such "silent editing" has in fact been done.
If Dallas has, I certainly do not remember reading it. If he wants
to explain the above in simple and direct English, I hope he will do
it in this forum.
OBTW, Carlos, do you approve of the Theosophy Company publishing two
volumes of HPB's writings with hundreds of changes and corrections
but with NO editorial note telling the reader that such
silent editing has been done????
At least in my volume of people's reminiscences of HPB, I wrote:
"The narratives have been transcribed from the original
sources with spelling and punctuation modernized. For
people's names, the spelling used in HPB's Collected
Writings (vols. 1 and 15) has been adopted. Material not
relevant to the immediate narrative has been silently
deleted. The original texts, however, can be found from
the bibliographical references. Explanatory notes added
by the editor are enclosed within square brackets."
Furthermore, I was not reprinting the WHOLE documents of each writer
but was trying to tell a story using only selected excerpts.
On the other hand, the TC was printing the entire text of the VOICE
OF THE SILENCE or the text of hundreds of her complete articles.
Well, at least we assumed they were complete!!! :)
Now we find out that the unacknowledged editing of both TC volumes
may have been the handiwork of G.R.S. Mead who also edited the 1893
edition of the SD which the ULT has consistently criticized for its
many changes and "corrections".....
