Re: STUDY & REFERENCES SECRET DOCTRINE Vol. II Pp.
1 - 33.
The outline of items to be consulted is for students to turn to and read for
themselves.
If one uses the INDEX to the SECRET DOCTRINE much will be made clear.
One cannot get a good idea of the SECRET DOCTRINE, 2nd Vol. , without having
read and ASSIMILATED the teachings given by THEOSOPHY in the 1ST Vol. - in
regard to:
As I understand it:
1 Cosmo-Genesis (beginning and early progress) of the UNIVERSE in
MANIFESTATION from the ABSOLUTENESS. Logically, the "ever-background" is the
ABSOLUTENESS. It is timeless, boundless, cannot be described and it is
SUPREME PERFECTION. [ This refers to MAHA-VISHNU -- ADI-BUDDHA - THE
UNDYING PRESERVER. The BHAGAVAD GITA is the "Song" of this supreme LORD -
an Avatar ] [ Symbolized by the SUN of "radiant Face," for our Earth beings.
]
2. MANAS (or a Mind-unit) is always a part of the SUPREME SPIRITUAL
ABSOLUTE. In any manifestation, it is at some stage of passage through the 7
universal planes stages of differentiation, as a devotee, seeks under a
natural internal urge to attain supreme WISDOM (Gnyan, Dzyan) - a sound
reason for its own existence -- in the universal and continually active
"School" of eternal evolution and experience.
3. "MONADIC ESSENCE" (S D I 619, 632) is a hint give to grasp this
fact. But universal duality requires simultaneously the 3rd aspect of MAHAT
or UNIVERSAL MIND (fragmented within the "boundless" SPACE of
all-manifestation) to counterbalance the other two. It forms (in
manifestation the 3 "Gunas" - qualities : WISDOM-PURITY; ACTION-DESIRE; and
INERTIA-REPOSE. ) the eternal TRIAD in Man and all things in Nature is the
immortal ATMA-BUDDHI-MANAS.
4 ONE SPIRIT is thus seen to be INCLUDING all "Spirits" and all
aspects of the ONE SPIRIT in the UNIVERSE. It is universally diffused. No
"space" is without IT . (S D I 289)
5. UNIVERSAL DUALITY requires simultaneously the 3rd aspect of MAHAT
or UNIVERSAL MIND (fragmented within "boundless" SPACE that is
"all-manifestation") to counterbalance the other two. It forms the ETERNAL
TRIAD. [This is the source of the 3 UNIVERSAL QUALITIES (Gunas).]
3 WE (ATMA -- the HIGHER SELF in each of us) are of the same
antiquity (as ETERNAL BEINGS) as the MAHA-ATMA (or the UNIVERSAL ONE
SPIRIT). [ The "Mahatmas are THOSE who KNOW this (Voice, pp. 75 - 79. The
disciple is about to make a final decision: to be "spiritually selfish" -
for a very long time - or to assume the devoted discipline of a
NIRMANAKAYA.) ]
4 UNIVERSITIES are periodically manifested because of ETERNAL
KARMA. The equally immortal SKANDHAS carry the imprint of choices made by
mind-beings in past manvantaras.
7 MAHAT (Universal MIND ) is the source of all MONADS -- This
gives validity to UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD
Much more will become evident as study proceeds.
THEOSOPHY as a philosophy is universally coherent and its "history" is
faultless.
