The following snippets of info (not quotes) are from Dr. William Campbell Douglass' May '06 issue of "Real Health Breakthroughs" newsletter (www.realhealthnews.com):

He says hundreds of studies have linked soy proteins and their derivatives to heart disease, cancer (especially of the breast and female reproductive organs), allergies and reduced immunity, thyroid dysfunction, malnutrition and digestive problems, nutrient deficiencies, (including calcimm, vital for the prevention of osteoporosis), reproductive disorders, cognitive and mental decline, psychosexual problems.

Apparently animals don't eat soybeans in the wild.

Apparently when soy-based foods were fed to mice with swollen hearts in a study, the mice developed heart failure and died.

Apparenlty a Dr. Kaayla Daniel, author or The Whole Soy Story, reports that soy-based foods increase homocysteine levels, an important marker for heart disease.

Apparenlty other countries (Israel, France, the United Kingdom (including the British Dietetic Association), and New Zealand have paid attention and are taking steps to curb soy ingestion.

Apparently in the United Kingdom, the Chief Medical Officer and the British Dietetic Association "have warned pediatricians and parents to use soy formula only as a last resort."

Apparently a copy of THE WHOLE SOY STORY; THE DARK SIDE OF AMERICA'S FAVORITE HEALTH FOOD is available at www.wholesoystory.com

Apparently there are references re the preciding at:
