First, I cannot resist repeating my point:
Yes, as you say, "shatsampatti and vairâgya(sometimes) can be difficult, but WE BOTH think all is possible in one life, provided we know how".
Yet, dear Christina, how many one-pointed lives are necessary to KNOW HOW to get to Liberation?
Quite a few. I do not use this as a tamasic excuse. Take my word for that. V. of the S. gives an average number of lives -- AFTER a certain stage is attained...
As to "Zen", the word is a Japanese adaptation of Chinese "Ch'an", which on its turn comes from "Jnana" and "Dzyan".
