In the "beginning," that which is called in mystic phraseology "Cosmic
Desire" evolves into absolute Light. [see KAMADEVA:  S D   II  176;
THEOSOPHICAL GLOSSARY pp. 170-1]

Now light without any shadow would be absolute light -- in other words,
absolute darkness -- as physical science seeks to prove.=20

That shadow appears under the form of primordial matter, allegorized -- if
one likes -- in the shape of the Spirit of Creative Fire or Heat. If,
rejecting the poetical form and allegory, science chooses to see in this th=
e
primordial Fire-Mist, it is welcome to do so.=20

Whether one way or the other, whether Fohat or the famous FORCE of Science,
nameless, and as difficult of definition as our Fohat himself, that
Something "caused the Universe to move with circular motion," as Plato has
it; or, as the Occult teaching expresses it:   [ as atoms do ]

John:  Here=92s a few ideas:  are they useful ?

Try comparing it to a school.

Students from various homes are assembled into classes according to their
age {?} and level of learning ability {?}   -- more or less.  Year after
year if they don't move out of the neighbourhood they reassemble and advanc=
e
=96 as a wave.  And then scatter on into life,  higher educations,  trades,
so individually --  they make choices that place them continually at
different locations and offer a range of abilities to develop.

Consider the vast range of ARTISTIC talents, genius, arts, sciences, trades=
,
all within the range of the MIND and parallel to the mind is another range
of SENSITIVITY ranges:  music, arts, dancing, literature, poetry, then a
further range might include the question of food, exercise, entertainment,
and the right distribution of balance and harmony in daily life.

Pass on to the duty we all have of educating others with what we have
learned ?   How good are we at that ? Can we improve that?

Now see how we can fit the array of individual and personal abilities to th=

7 principles and planes we are told of in THEOSOPHY.  Can that be done?

Now transfer this idea to the moral  motives of action and thought and
creativity.  Where do we establish harmony, balance, and learn to share wit=

others ? What would that develop in us ?

Dear Dallas:

I continue to struggle in my understanding of Races, Rounds and Globes.  I
get so caught up in the words that my head spins and I cannot get a grip on
this infinite Reality.  I understand that it is a journey of the One Life,
but how does one make that connection with all the states and the
significance of each globe and round that we pass through?  What is acquire=
d
by all beings at each cycle?  It is difficult to see from the bottom of the
mountain.
