To Chuck on Talking to the Stars

Chuck,

Many things ARE hidden, whether you like it or not.

"The essence is invisible to the eyes".( St. Exupéry)

Talking about essential things will not convey your meaning easily. Sometimes the failure in conveying your meaning will only turn things worse. I am sure you see that in your own life.

It happens all the time between people.

We are discussing simple things here and there is a lot of misunderstanding. It would be useless and harmful to discuss other, more complex things. That's why many things must be kept in silence here, for instance--- due to the absence of a common basis for mutual understanding.

It is worthwhile talking about things as long as there is a common basis for mutual understanding, even it is partial.

You may say "good morning, my friend" to your horse -- but explaining for half an hour "The Key to Theosophy" to him, or to the stars in heaven at night, might be going a little too far.

Regards, Carlos.
