It is not so.

The matter of the fact is that, very much like old Socrates,
you are probably concealing your divine optimism and your faith
in human beings, out of modesty and care.

No need to conceal it too much among us, though.

things are obviously much better now than they were then. Our impudence
would never even dream of blushing. In fact I don't think I even know how to.
