Friends,

People who tend to describe  USA's democracy as the same thing as Arab 
dictatorships or even
Hitler's Germany should live two or three years in Lybia or Syria and come 
back to have a better view of thing.  One month in those countries may 
improve their insights.

Having living two decades under a military dictatorship, I have the 
experience.

In the USA, you can call G. W. Bush a killer. Go to Syria and say the 
equivalent about the local "president"!  To apreciate that difference, you 
must have a taste of what is to live in such countries, under such 
governments.

(In Latin America, we know the difference and the knowledge is often counted 
in friends and relatives killed and tortured for crimes of opinion.)
