Subba Row and HPB were students of the same master, Morya. In the
letter that Olcott received on the Shannon in 1888, it was made
clear that the Mahatmas had personally supervised HPB's writing and
editing of "The Secret Doctrine." This implies misunderstanding
were cleared up by way of editing. HPB was explicit about the
methods used: "They give me facts only and rarely dictate in
succession."

Olcott did not question the authenticity of the letter he received
on the Shannon. She must have gotten enough right for the Mahatma
to endorse the final book.

easiest thing to do, I imagine, though that she cleared any
misunderstanding up with the author.
