Dear MKR,
See Mary Lutyens' biographies of Jiddu Krishnamurti.
I am not in my library now, but you should look at
"The Years of Awakening". Annie Besant did
close the Adyar ES after Krishnaurti's request
for some time, but then re-opened it again after
one year or so. (If you want page details, etc.,
let me know.)
It seems certain that Krishnamurti also recommended to
another Adyar leader (much later and a close friend of
his) that the School should be closed. Yet this time the ES was
not closed. This info, though, does not have a public origin.
Close disciples and friends of Krishnamurti, like
P. Krishna (one who is now relatively influential in the
Adyar TS.), do not make much of a secret that they
believe, as Krishnamurti did, that the Adyar E. S.
should be closed.
I hope that helps.
Best regards, Carlos.
