Does Adyar TS Stand on Its Feet?

Pedro,

I did not announce the end of the Adyar TS.

These were your own words, not mine.

As to standing or not on its feet,
you seem to have forgotten the moral
and ethical ground,
which is more important than
the amount of money on the bank
or nominal members from the merely
corporate viewpoint.

Every healthy person admits his/her mistakes
in order to be able to learn from them.

Even the Vatican in recent years admitted
some of its historical mistakes with regard to
the Jewish people,
with regard to the indigenous peoples,
with regard to other Christian Churches, etc.

To stand on its feet on the moral ground,
the Adyar TS should start to learn from some
mistakes which even today affect the
whole of the movement.

The libels against HPB being one of them.

Radha Burnier admitted in a letter to me
that those Solovyof letters are "obviously spurious".

She earned by respect by that and I have
no criticism about her.

But she added that she has nothing to do with its publication
by the USA Adyar TS and could do nothing about that.
And this is some food for thought.

Algeo half-admitted his mistake in a personal
communication to Dara Eklund of which I
have a xerox copy. Yet he will not admit
publically his unfortunate handling of the whole issue.

Is this standing on one's own feet on the ethical ground?

Years ago, as you know, Ms. Joy Mills admitted in a letter
to me that Leadbeater's books are
"science fiction", id est, fancies.

But she wanted the
whole question to remain in secret. Is this to put
Truth above power interests and corporate politics?

You yourself did not seem to do anything to restore
the truth, be it by defendinh HPB from Solovyof's libels,
be it to free the theosophical movement from CWL's
wild clairvoyant fancies.

I am not criticizing you personally, as everyone acts as
he best can under his own circumstances. I am looking at
a culture, the culture of untruthfulness "for the good
of the corporation".

Does the ethic ground have an importance
to the Adyar Theosophical Sociery? I am open to the
dialogue. You are welcome to the dialogue. My mind
is open to the new.

Will you accept that Solovyof's charges are false?
Will you have the ethical and political courage to write to Algeo
about that? As you may know, Ms. Zeneida Cereja da Silva,
first national secretary of the Adyar Society in Brazil, and our common
friend, did write to Mr. John Algeo and told him most clearly that
he is wrong in publishing those false texts as if they had been written by HPB.

Will you follow Zeneida's example? Or will you at least subscribe
Radha Burnier's position, who wrote that Solovyof letters
obviously spurious?

I hope the physical and monetary ground is not the only one
on which the TS Adyar is interested on standing.

And, let me tell you that, as a person, and in general terms,
I don't doubt your good intentions, for which I must tell you
that you have my sincere respect.

Systematically hiding literary failings; promoting libels
against the founder (who is the
founder of the Esoterical School); having several ritualistic
structures based on CWL's most numerous and imaginary
talks to the "Lord Christ";
failing to recognize the injustice done to W. Q. Judge;
these are just a few examples of things for us to frankly
and honestly discuss here.

Because Ethics is the criteria to judge and evaluate where
we stand in life and how useful is our philosophy to our own life.

May the honest dialogue go on.

Peace to all beings, Carlos.

Dear Konstantin,
As the end of the TS has been (again) announced, I haste in sharing
some ideas about the subject.

One of HPB's Teachers declared: "You have still to learn that so
long as there are three men worthy of our Lord's blessing, in the
Theosophical Society, it can never be destroyed." (LMW, I, 40, also
mentioned in HPB's ES Instructions III)

Surprisingly, something went wrong and the other Master associated
with the beginnings of the Society had this to say:

"Because the Society has liberated itself from our grasp and
influence and we have let it go — we make no unwilling slaves. He
[HSO] says he has saved it? He saved its body, but he allowed
through sheer fear, to its soul to escape, and it is now a soulless
corpse, a machine run so far well enough, but which will fall to
pieces when he is gone. Out of the three objects the second alone is
attended to, but it is no longer either a brotherhood, nor a body
over the face of which broods the Spirit from beyond the Great
Range." (LMW, I, 47)

Note that not even HPB, the 'direct agent' of the Mahatmas, could
save the TS at that time. Are the two above statements
contradictory? Or do they point to the responsibility of the
members? I believe the year was 1888.

The Australian section is not the biggest, ratio-wise. Probably
Finland or Cuba, one of the two, is.

There was a smoking ceremony at the opening of the World Congress in
Sydney, 2001, performed by Australian Aborigines. I did meet the
members from Ukraine but didn't know about the reported phenomena.
As Daniel Caldwell says in his website, there is indeed a morass of
claims.

Best wishes,

pedro
