That's a total misrepresentation, since TMR describes 14 *real* South 
Asian individuals as such, and another 18 Western and Middle Eastern 
individuals as adepts.  That *stories told about the Masters contained 
falsehoods* does not make the individuals on which they were (loosely 
sometimes) based false.

Actually, Daniel has at times praised TMR for doing that, in between 
his denunciations.

seriously say that every university press book is "a business, not a 
campaign for ideas" because it is not distributed free online?  That's 
nothing but a desperate smear tactic.

This kind of mud-flinging, without even a trace of effort to find out 
whether or not it is true, is all too typical of theos-talk and has 
been since its beginning and back into theos-l.  Honestly, the 
willingness of people who have not and will not read a book to make 
public false pronouncements about it is the most amazing thing about 
all this Theosophical anti-intellectual madness.
