Exactly!  The temptation that folks fall prey to is the need to  justify 
everything, to prove everything, to be RIGHT!
 
This is what leads to long, drawn out arguments that go on forever and go  
nowhere, but no one is persuaded and no one really cares except the people who  
get sucked into them.
 
When I first got on the various Theos lists I fell into that trap a lot and  
I would engage in debate with fists and feet flailing and all that ever was  
accomplished was the raising of blood pressure.
 
Oh, it felt good to smash a point home, but in the end it did not  matter.  
It certainly did not improve my life any nor, I suspect, did it  make anyone 
change their minds about much of anything.
