Dear Mr Caldwell:
As far as all your questions go, I don't see how any of them have any
relevance to the study of theosophy or to my previous informative posting about the
implied, supposedly damaging (or as you called it "tampering") changes in the
VOS -- (which, apparently, were simply justifiable editorial polishing) -- that
I still see as nit picking and part of a personal vendetta against ULT and
the TC.
I also see such questions as possibly clever dodges intended to divert
answering the points I made in my last exposure of your implied accusations. Such
methods obviously intending to discredit anyone who questions your prejudicial
assertions, cleverly disguised, in my view, as inquisitional-type leading
questions that, if unanswered, are designed, apparently, to prove your points, as
well as your infallibility in historical judgments in the minds of your
readers. BTW, that appears to be a novel twist on an old occult propaganda trick
of how to "imply a lie by telling the truth." (No personal accusations
intended. ;-)
Accordingly, since I had hoped my explanatory letter would stop this
continuous prsonalized poking and probing about the past that diverts us all from the
study and practice of theosophy -- which is far more important than the
endless bickering over the past or present organizational problems of the long
effete TS and its spinoffs, or the peccadilloes and opinions of their leaders -- I
refuse to get involved any further in these non productive discussions... That
for you may be important for your self esteem as a respected theosophical
historian -- but to me is simply endless and diverting stirring up of tempests in
teapots that continue to clutter up my mailbox.
As for dragging me into your controversy with Mr. Aveline... Since I cannot
speak for him, or for the policies and politics of either the TS or ULT, I have
no interest in getting involved in your cross examinations. Here, I wish to
be considered simply as an independed student of theosophy and its science and
occultism at their most fundamental levels -- with no affiliation whatsoever
with any theosophical or occult organizations -- although I subscribe to the
objects of the Theosophical Movement.
So, please go pick on someone else if you have to get your points across in
open forums through countless flooding of repetitious and inquisition-like
demands for confessions about historical claims and counter claims that I have no
interest in pursuing.
However, if you wish to discuss theosophical metaphysics and ethics, or their
practical applications with me, or question my knowledge or opinions on the
level of pure occultism and its deepest scientific and philosophical
correlation's, I would be most happy to engage in such a dialogue with you.
I remain, in all theosophical tolerance and brotherhood,
Sincerely,
Leon H. Maurer
