Dear Betty,

I see that Carlos Aveline has written you a letter dated Jan 6, 
2006, in which he writes in part:

"In time I hope the Adyar TS will come to publicly acknowledge and 
debate other mistakes it made."

"A few, selected examples:

"1. The tampering with the first edition of The Secret Doctrine, 
until the ULT published the first facsimile edition in 1925...."

I see that this letter to you has been published in Jerome Wheeler's 
ULT publication, "The Aquarian Theosophist", March 17, 2006 issue.

Trying to understand Mr. Aveline's viewpoint on this specific issue 
of "tampering" and what his real concerns are, I have posted
a series of emails on the Theosophical forum called Theos-Talk.

I think some of the subject matter may be of interest to you as you 
try to evaluate the validity of Mr. Aveline's claims, demands, etc.
  
So far, Mr. Aveline has declined to give his views on the tampering 
issue as it relates to two publications of the Theosophy Company/ULT.

Of course, any reply you make to me will be considered private and
