Dear Anand, Iain, friends,

Iain: I agree that we need to keep moving forward. To do this, we need to stay in the present which is a product of our past. Therefore, it is also important to be mindful of mistakes in the past so that we can take steps not to repeat them.
Anand: "Hate" is a very powerful word. It carries a very poisonous energy, not only to those who are the target of that expression, but to those who express it. It is a word that ought to be used with the greatest caution--if at all. By the way, have you met these leaders you accuse of hatred? Can you quote from any of their writings any expression of hatred towards Adyar leaders? If you can, then please do. Frankly, I don't think you will be able to find such quotes, because I don't believe such expressions of hatred exist. Please prove me wrong, if you can.
Over the past 43 years, I have had the good fortune to meet and to get to know the leaders and students of not only the Adyar, but of the various "splits." I have never heard any leader or member of the "splinter groups" express any hatred towards any Adyar member or leader. Nor have I ever met one who ever expressed to me the belief that Blavatsky is the only source of truth. For example, I remember that Boris de Zirkoff, a Theosophist of the Point Loma Tradition, used to recommend that people read Clara Codd.
Perhaps what we Theosophists need to do is concentrate more upon cultivating the "Universal Brotherhood and tolerance" you say the TS was meant to form. As an exercise, I would recommend that all Theosophists read, with an open mind, writings from all of the Theosophical groups--including the writings of Blavatsky.
Best wishes,
Jerry

Subject: Theos-World Blavatsky's writing was cause of every split in the TS

The Theosophical Society was founded in 1875. Adyar TS due to
Masters' blessings got many good writers like Annie Besant, Charles
Leadbeater, Geoffrey Hodson, I.K. Taimni, Clara Codd, C.
Jinarajadasa, G.S.Arundale. Writings of all these authors was widely
read and was popular. But students of these authors never separated
from the Theosophical Society and never formed other society or
group. Readers and students of these authors never became cause of
split of the TS. They remained with Adyar TS.
If we observe history, we find that every time Theosophical Society
split, those separatist groups were composed of students of
Blavatsky's writing and believed in dogmatic and fundamentalist
manner that Blavatsky only knew truth, nobody else. They hated all
other leaders and writers. TS was meant to form Universal Brotherhood
and tolerance but these students of Blavatsky hated all other writers
and eventually separated, split society and continued hating it. As
it
happened again and again among students of Blavatsky's writing, it is
perfectly clear that Blavatsky's writing develops negative, divisive
tendencies among people. Blavatsky's writing is highly risky for
Adyar TS.
