Re: Mailing List ATTACKS by VIRUSES and SPAM
This is my experience:
Please advise me if I am wrong:
I use WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION
For e-mail [ IN and OUT] I use MicroSoft OUTLOOK
On the INBOX display choose
TOOLS
go to ORGANIZE
----------------------------------------------------------
IT LOOKS LIKE THIS
Ways to Organize Inbox
<outlcmd://newfldr/> New Folder...
<outlcmd://ruleswizard> Rules Wizard...

The Junk and Adult Content filters identify messages by looking for key
words. They are not 100% accurate. For more options click here.
To add a sender to the Junk or Adult Content filter, right-click a message
and choose Junk E-Mail from the menu. For more options click here.
*
To add a sender's name to a filter, right-click a message and choose Junk
E-Mail from the menu.
*
To view or edit the names you have added, go to Edit Junk Senders or Edit
Adult Content Senders

You can improve filters by downloading updates from the

I mark the undesirable SENDER and click CURSOR after selecting DELETED ITEMS
to MOVE.
In CREATE A RULE : I select CREATE
A pop-up box asks if I want to use this destination for the present incoming
and FUTURE e-mails from that address, I say: YES
Thereafter such undesirable incoming e-mail from that address goes directly
to my DELETED FILES.
If you use an earlier version of MicroSoft Windows the rules are slightly
different. But undesirable incoming mail can be diverted to DELETED FILES.

Mark, you're not the only one affected and this is not the first plea
to the powers that be here, but so far it was all in vain. One
solution I can suggest is to have a dedicated e-mail address for this
forum and tune up your mail client to kill any messages coming to this
address from anywhere but this forum. Thus you will get rid of spam
AND (unfortunately) of all private messages at this address...
Of course you can also use some sophisticated anti-spam software but
nothing of such kind is 100% reliable.
