ALL DAY Wednesday on CNN, Fox, and MSNBC, reporters were describing
the terrible situation at the Superdome. I believe even on Tuesday
night there were such reports.
That is the problem. FEMA had to get all its information from broadcast
news, which is not always reliable, because the Louisiana government
would not give them the information.
It is not FEMA's job to get the information; it is their job to help
out the local authorities. The local authorities did nothing.
