No. The orbit of Mercury was 43 seconds off from calculations. The most
likely possibility was another planet; the size and position of it was
calculated, and it was called "Vulcan". Only one small problem: when
people looked for it, they couldn't find it. Blavatsky, among others,
posited that energy and matter were the same thing, Einstein ran with
the idea, and came up with his theory of relativity, which precisely
explained Mercury's problem orbit without any need for Vulcan.
