Hallo Daniel and all,
My views are:
1. A minor excerpt from the link could do well...
". . . A close examination will assuredly reveal. . . materials largely
stolen . . . from Theosophical writings. . . [and] distorted and falsified
so as to be palmed off on the unwary as revelations of new and undreamed of
truths. But many will neither have the time nor the opportunity for such a
thorough investigation; and before they become aware of the imposture they
may be led far from the Truth."
". . . Nothing is more dangerous to Esoteric Truth than the garbled and
distorted versions disfigured to suit the prejudices and tastes of men in
general." (4)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
"..save us from the impudent distortion of our theosophical teachings.."
2. Daniel could with great advantage add these quotes from The Secret
Doctrine by Blavatsky:
"This every scholar now knows. The able lectures of Mr. G. Massey alone are
sufficient in themselves to convince any fair-minded Christian that to
accept the dead-letter of the Bible is equivalent to falling into a grosser
error and superstition than any hitherto evolved by the brain of the savage
South Sea Islander."
(The Secret Doctrine vol 1., p. 305)
"Some of its defenders must have lost their reason, one would rather say.
For what can one think when, in the face of the dead-letter absurdities of
the Bible, these are still supported, publicly and as fiercely as ever, and
one finds its theologians maintaining that though "the Scriptures carefully
refrain (?) from making any direct contribution to scientific knowledge,
they have never stumbled upon any statement which will not abide the light
of ADVANCING SCIENCE"!!! -- ("Primeval Man," p. 14)."
(The Secret Doctrine vol 1., p. 323 - footnote)
"Or, in plainer and stronger language, there is as much esoteric wisdom in
some portions of the exoteric Puranas and Pentateuch, as there is of
nonsense and of designed childish fancy in it, when read only in the
dead-letter murderous interpretations of great dogmatic religions, and
especially of sects."
(The Secret Doctrine vol 1., p. 336)
" "The tree is known by its fruit," -- the nature of a God by his actions.
The latter, we have either to judge by the dead-letter narratives, or to
accept allegorically. If we compare the two -- Vishnu, as the defender and
champion of the defeated gods; and Jehovah, the defender and champion of the
"chosen" people, so called by antiphrasis, no doubt, as it is the Jews who
had chosen that "jealous" God -- we shall find that both use deceit and
cunning. They do so on the principle of "the end justifying the means," in
order to have the best of their respective opponents and foes -- the
demons."
(The Secret Doctrine vol 1., p. 421)
*******
3. AND then Daniel could ADD this:
Almost the same could be said about a lot of the various NEW theosophical
compilations and analyzing articles posted on some present day theosophical
websites, because the use of the Dead-letter is often given way too much
credit at such places. Theosophy aught NOT only to be listen to - or -
presented or read in a dead-letter manner
(The eager Seeker could take some time to compare my statement with the
above ones from Blavatsky.)
*******
Theosophy as such is not at its inner Heart a physical organisation.
The points at which the mystical traditions, which are still alive, are in
contact with each other cannot really be explained by the means of books or
websites. And yet people continue to write books and similar showing how
they have found this and that point of resemblance.
*******
It is when disagreement comes, that it is important that one is willing to
BOTH learn and teach.

M. Sufilight with a friendly smile...
