very influential among many other organizations including the Arcane
School, the AMORC and the Oceanside Rosicrucians.
What is AMORC?
... assumption that everyone on the list would realise its meaning.
... acronyms can be disruptive to flow and content.
There will probably always be people in this list that don't know all
the acronyms. I guess I proved that by not knowing what AMORC is. What's
funny is that it appears in Jerry's reply to Mark, answering his
question about what SD stood for.
Likewise, even if we were only wrilting to people in this group, and
even if we believed that everyone in this group knows all the acronyms
(which I don't think is true), we still have to consider the person who
might read one message independently of the others, when googling a topic.
Remembering what I was taught back when I was studying the Talmud, I do
know that some teachers deliberately use strange ways of saying things,
forcing the students to learn the specifics of that section from a
master or teacher, so we could compare the use of acronyms in this group
with the Talmudic scholar's decision to be deliberately vague while
writing down the Oral Law, thus requiring that people ask questions when
they don't understand what they read.
Though, the only problem about that in this group is that some people
won't ask, so they won't even know what they missed. Personally, I'd
prefer to see acronyms explained whenever used.

John,
(Acronym? Sometimes I feel like an ????)
(I prefer "intellectual" but you decide for yourself)
