In Japanese, the R sounds similar to an L. So they are interchangeable
when you write them in roman letters.
Hari Kiri can be done a number of ways. Usually if a Japanese warrior
was defeated, the honorable thing was for them to commit suicide by
stabbing himself with a japanese shortsword.
