Hi Nigel,
My personal perspective is that in order to see the whole picture we 
need to look at the all aspects.
This may involve a critical comparison to show differences or 
contradictions with those other writings.
For me true freedom must involve debate in some kind of Socratic 
method.
In the end it is always up to the individual to make up their own 
mind which rationale or belief they do or don't resonate with.

Anyone who has read some of HPB's articles in Lucifer will know she 
was not afraid of locking philosophical horns when need be.
