Re: responsibility for the THEOSOPHICAL SOCIETY 

It certainly seems unreasonable to assume that the Great Founders of the
THEOSOPHICAL MOVEMENT [The Masters of Wisdom, of the First Section, behind
the scenes] would assume total responsibility for the follies of innumerable
persons who contact the THEOSOPHICAL SOCIETY, and who may later seek a
"scape goat" for their own cowardice. I would say that trying to escape
responsibility ic cowardice.

As I understand it, Karma -- the universal law of compensation -- does not
work that way. It is equal justice for all. Balance, and dynamic harmony.

They showed that what we call virtue, is a matter of practical daily life
under unerring law. And they showed that it was based on the common laws
of justice, and the brotherhood of all beings, and these, together,
constitute all the reciprocal operations in our Universe and our Earth.
They cover all motives for thoughts, feelings and actions.

Blame cannot be shifted to others.

It may also be suggested that some of those who post their views concerning
the THEOSOPHICAL SOCIETY read and study the actual documents relating to the
History of the THEOSOPHICAL SOCIETY before making further uninformed (and
therefore ridiculous) statements. [See the book: THE THEOSOPHICAL

The THEOSOPHICAL SOCIETY was started in New York in 1875 and not at Adyar. [
see Blavatsky: COLLECTED WORKS I 124-30 ]

Col. Olcott, President, and H P B, both founders were commissioned as a
delegation to visit India in 1879.  

The THEOSOPHIST MAGAZINE was started in late 1879 from Bombay.

The Adyar property was purchased later and the HQ of the THEOSOPHICAL
SOCIETY was moved there by Col. Olcott's order subsequently.

The THEOSOPHICAL SOCIETY in New York remained the original society.

Questions concerning the actual and original teachings of THEOSOPHY
emanating from primary sources are of great importance to all students if
any hope to progress along the universal lines verified and traced from
antiquity.

The masters KH & M both agreed to take all responsibility for all the
consequences of the theosophical society (or something similar--I
can't remember my source, forgive me). This includes, I would suspect,
other theosophical societies being created in the process. I wouldn't
consider them any less divine than Adyar.

My personal opinion -- It's not like these other societies are
sacrificing small animals to satan; they are in fact working in
accordance with theosophical ideals.
