Re: Theos-World How would you feel if somebody eats you

Hi Bart-

You pointed out something that can lead to the
profound. A part of life in this dimension is the
"food chain". And we're right in there, and can be
food for lots of creatures out there, still. We're
made of meat, just like our mammalian kin.

There is nothing ignoble with a wolf killing and
eating an antelope, nor a giraffe eating living leaves
off branches. Or, a black widow eating it's mate as
the couple. It's natural, the "way it is".

Among our species, indigenous cultures still hunt,
kill and eat animals in the natural ways, respecting
the animal, praying for it, and using every part. Our
bodies are built to eat meat, it's how we naturally
are. From our teeth, natural urges, to the acids in
our stomachs- animal flesh is a part of how we
naturally exist.

It's only been in the last several hundred years that
the majority of our species has drifted away from the
natural ways. And that's is what has lead to the whole
debate over whether it is "proper" to eat meat or not.
The debate should be rather about how to eat meat in a
way in accordance with natural laws, rather than if
it's proper or not. The chemistry in our bodies, which
we are honored guests to reside in, tell us that it's
proper. No amount of words and philosophy can change
that.

I used to be a card carrying vegan, but was always a
bit weak. Still, I felt very strongly that it was the
proper moral thing to do. Then, during a spiritual
workshop our host served dinner, and it had meat in
it. My friend was livid, and said with disdain, "How
can you be a spiritual person and eat meat?" And our
host, who was leading the workshop, told a story about
a well-known guru in India, who was a guest at a
wealthy person's house. He was served a dish that had
meat in it. His disciples gasped as he dug into the
meal with glee! Later, a disciple asked, for the
group, how he could do such a thing?

And the guru simply said, "I ate what was served
before me- it would have been rude not to"...then
detailed how an advanced soul could eat anything
really, with the correct intent. And he also said that
being judgmental was not a correct intention...so I
reconsidered my judments and opened up a butcher
shop-- juuuust kidding.

We, our species, needs get back to the natural ways.
The Mayan elders have recently sent another, more dire
warning that the recent tsunami was an indication of
things to come. Whether we eat meat or not won't
matter- what we do now, both individually and
collectively- does!
