Grammar Nazis

<< Problem is when we read anything we immediately notice grammatical and spelling errors and that makes reading such message bad experience. >>

Instead of thinking of bad grammar as giving YOU a bad experience, why don't you think of it as a way of "nature" (or whomever) trying to emphasize something, to make it more noticeable.

You're never going to convince everyone in this group that they should do things your way (in other words, you're not going to get rid of the bad grammar), so instead, let those instances of bad grammar emphasize something to you.

Each time you see bad grammar, ask yourself what that bad grammar might mean to you, and look for a positive emphasis. I'm sure you can find a positive emphasis that involves the bad grammar, then you can get good from it.

The only other alternative is to block that sender with your filters, so you never see their messages at all, and if you do that, you might miss something that your infinite spirit would have wanted you to see.

I am reminded of street signs I've seen that have had bad grammar or deliberate misspellings. It bothered me at first, until someone pointed out to me that I actually remembered the information on the sign better because of the errors. (Speaking of errors, can you find the word in this paragraph that I deliberately mispelled?)

One such sign read simply "DRIVE CAREFUL" (in this case, I believe they left off the LY ending because more people would understand it with the shorter word). There was a very tall towering chimney in Chicago that was famous for a misspelled word on it, but for the life of me, I can no longer remember what that word was. I do remember that I noticed it every time I passed it on the freeway. If it had been spelled correctly, I'd have never noticed it.

So, when you see bad grammar or misspelled words, just look for the good, and ignore the bad. The good is there, if you look for it. But if instead, you always look for the bad, it's your loss. (My mother, when I was a kid, always told us about the bad she saw in our friends' families. Today, all she can remember of those families is those bad things she commented on. She doesn't remember the good that she also saw.)
