When Annie Besant was incharge of the TS, I think many powerful 
people in the world considered TS as very important organization. And 
they were members of TS or helpful to it. India was largest country 
in the world populationwise. Only party that was fighting for 
independence was Indian National Congress. All who's who in India 
elected Annie Besant as President of Indian National Congress. So you 
can imagine what kind of power she had. This she did after 
establishing world-wide TS organization and was head of ES. She alone 
could do all these things.
