Re: Theos-World paper books versus ebooks

I think that online books are very practical. Especially for me that I am living in a foreigner country and of course I could not bring my library with me. To buy all this books again would cost quite a lot. I wish one day all the Theosophical literature will be online. This is also very helpful forpersons that are in countries in which there are not many books published about theosophy, as for sample here in Greece and I am sure is the same in many other countries in east Europe.

The main advantages of an ebook are the ability to search the contents of
the book, and the ability to easily copy quotations into another document.
Readability is poor, compared to a paper book, but before the current
generation of children grow up, there will be a version of portable computer
that is suitable for extended reading of books.
Right now, battery life, size, weight, price, readability of screen image,
and easy of use of the associated software all need to be greatly improved,
but eventually, people will only read paper books for the same reason that
others stick to manual typewriters rather than using word processors. It
will be a matter of habit and resistance to change, which often increases as
one gets old.
