Thanks, Leon. Lately I've been
speculating about how cult-like
behaviours/values might be seen to exist
even in TS's, maybe, in some sense (ie,
depending on how one might interpret
cultishness). Many years ago I had an
errand to do at the office of the
Toronto Scientologists and formed the
imnpression, just from vibes I seem to
have picked up, that the person I talked
to in there was weird and not a nice
person. Then a little later that office
was in the news quite a lot because they
were raided by the police and
investigated by the renevooers.
Gordon Urquhart in his THE POPES ARMADA
wrote about his nine year experience in
Focolare, which is one of the cults that
Pope John Paul II has been promoting
over the years. Apparently there are
about 30 million members in
fundamentalist, extreme right-wing cults
promoted by that Pope. Apparently those
cultists are fanatical in promoting
their various agendas while working
towards establishing a new world order
based on their fundamentalist dictates.
They're very secretive, wouldn't mention
the name of their cult if they come
knocking on your door.
Speculatively,
Mauri
