I don't think she ever claimed to know everything ... and her label as
"smartest" is not self-proclaimed but is the result of her getting high
scores on intelligence-type tests.
She'd probably be the first to admit she doesn't know everything, even
if she wouldn't admit it in print.
Years ago, I, and many other people caught her on one particular
mistake. Someone wrote in and asked if she could put 50 pennies into ten
envelopes, so that there would be a different number of pennies inside
each envelope. (with at least one penny in each envelope).
She replied that it couldn't be done.
I mailed her a set of ten envelopes that had 50 paper pennies inside
them. Every envelope had at least one penny in it, and every envelope
contained a different number of pennies.
I won't post the answer yet, so that each of you can try to see if you
are smarter than Marilyn vos Savant. (If you do post the answer to the
group, be sure to identify it as a SPOILER and leave lots of blank lines
at the start of your message, so that people who don't want to see the
answer won't open it.) (If you want to see my answer, just write me
directly and I'll tell you. My puzzle address is (webmaster (at)
mazes.com).)

P.S. Are you looking for a great gift for the spiritual someone on your
list? (Or for yourself?)
Look no further. http://www.spiritual-dvds-every-month.com/

I checked out one month's worth of DVDs and loved every minute. And I
really appreciated the fact that they didn't try to promote just one
point of view.
