identifying the masters?

Paul Johnson and other good people were trying, in a certain way, yo
identify the real masters.
I agree there's much 'story' about them... fakes ones, specially
after hideous movements lik 'I AM" and "Great White Fraternity"
started to appear. Since people with little occult knowledge were
being deceived by spirits ofthe astral plane (and we all know that
the astral plane is one of the lowest and master 'live' above it) who
love to personificate great historical figures of the colective
imaginarium.
But I guess, as we can se in references in the mahatma letters and
sayings of HPB that if the masters were to be indentified, they would
be. However we see a continous attempt by their part to not be
indentificated with any important teacher of the past, with anything
known to anyone.
They explain that if someone (for example) goes to TIbet in serch for
them, the person will only find what she is searching if they want to
be found. They talk about a 'maya courtain' that is used to keep
curious people away...
So one can try and try, and look for history
but we are no better than them
and they know what they do
so trying to indentify them with logic, andarguments, and speculations
is just useless
Masters cannot be identified by the usual means. Only by merit and
occult means (if they want to)

p.s - if some 'spirit' appears to you saying "I am master 'that' and
ccame to teach you because you are very good and bla bla bla" you can
be sure that this is not a master
they don't want devotion because of "i am master that" they care only
for the teachings.
