Dear Konstantin

I disagree with following statement:

“But he clearly bluffs that the Gurus and the books are not necessary (...) He denies the Masters or Gurus. He denies the scriptures. He denies sacred books”.

As I see, stating that is taking dead letter for reality. Most of “scriptures” and “sacred books” are altered, are misunderstood and are exoteric, as HPB said many times. Many people are dependent of their own conditioning and are ready to fight (verbally or physically, even in a terrorist way) against everything that is different of their “faith”.

Krishnamurti denies dependence of things. If you leave (psychological dependence of) books you will learn from books, life, people and so on in an intelligent way.

Moreover, as Upanishads state, (Universal) Self cannot be knew through arts, sciences, sacred scriptures and even the Veda itself. No brain process can give that insight (see HPB's article “Self Knowledge”).

Usually Krishnamurti talks about the “jumping” that is needed in other to awake to another level of (non-personal) consciousness. Previous steps are needed, but he doesn’t speak about it. His work is mostly limited to that stage of the “jumping”.

At least, this is the way I understand it.

Best

p
