Yes, it is very wrong to look to "higher beings" outside of ourself for 
direction. 

The only way we can transcend our karma, is by our own self determined and 
self devised study and effort. Jesus' body may have been nailed to matter, but 
the "Christ" or higher Self within him, being outside of all such space and 
time, had nothing to do with it... Just as our own higher Self is that Master 
and also the "avatar" within us -- who is the only one who can bring about our 
individual salvation. 

Thus, we can reach that "higher being" or "Christ" consciousness only through 
study and meditation. And, if done properly, that "knowing of the truth for 
ourselves" could come about in a single momentary flash of insight. 

So, it remains for each of us to try and find such "TRUTH" for ourselves -- 
without looking "outside" for that "higher being" or Messiah, in the flesh. 

To blindly believe otherwise -- is the lower self generated false view that 
establishes and locks in the inhibition or "modification of the mind" that 
could make us take 10,000 years or more to find out who we really are.
