Dear Cass,and everyboby else,
When I read the original mailings I did laugh as being British it is well understood what the phrase is.It is curious that other people did not get the joke Houmour like language has developed differently from nation to nation, the style of humour also, If each country were to name their top 10 comedy/comedians, each would be totally different, very few are worldwide, such as Monty Pythons Flying Circus as a prime example, I am sure many people when seeing this for the first time were stunned/bemused,and to be honest most of the sketches fell flat- the python team freely admit that, So is there a Universal sence of Humour? just to test the waters, and not to leave out Leadbetter.

When is bedtime in the Leadbetter household?

When the big hand touches the little hand.

Humour can be a great weapon in fighting pomposity and as a safety valve in times of strife and even to bring understanding.

best wishes Iain
